The Fallen And Wounded Soldiers Fund Presents Its 10th Anniversary Gala And Fundraiser At MGM Grand Detroit

Highly decorated, former Navy Seal Robert O’Neill returns as keynote speaker

LIVONIA, March 2, 2015 – The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund (FWSF), a Michigan-based nonprofit, will host its 10th Annual Anniversary Gala and Fundraiser in MGM Grand Detroit’s Grand Ballroom on Sat. April 25, 2015 at 5 p.m.

Robert O’Neill, a former member of Navy SEAL Team 6 and one of the most highly decorated combat veterans of our time, will serve once again as keynote speaker.

Returning troops often face delays in getting assistance from the government and the FWSF is dedicated to assisting injured Michigan soldiers and providing support to their families, as well as families of fallen soldiers. The FWSF is able to quickly help families with everything from living expenses to foreclosure assistance and home mortgage modifications.

“The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund was created with the goal of giving back to the troops that have done so much for all of us,” said Chris Cornelius, co-founder of FWSF.  “To consistently see so many Michigan residents and companies support this cause year after year has been amazing. Knowing that together we are helping make life a little bit easier for the brave men and women who have risked so much for our country is a truly gratifying experience.”

An all-volunteer organization, approximately 95 percent of all the funds raised by FWSF has been spent on soldiers and families. Last year more than $535,000 went to assist Michigan soldiers and families. Since its inception in 2006, the organization has raised more than $3,000,000.

The gala will include entertainment, a silent auction and wounded Michigan soldiers and their families will share their inspirational stories. Guests will be presented with detailed information on how donations to FWSF have made a positive impact on Michigan’s military families, from paying soldiers’ medical bills to funding travel expenses for families to visit their recovering loved ones at Walter Reed Hospital in D.C.

For 2015, the event moves to MGM Grand Detroit located at 1777 3rd St, Detroit, MI 48226. Tickets for the event are available now for $150 per person and include the silent auction, dinner and open bar. Table sponsorships are also available starting at $1,500. Please keep in mind that tickets and auction items are partially tax-deductible, and organizers of the event are still accepting sponsorships and auction items.
